Anime Nation

I tried my luck and submitted an entry in the FanArt section of the site Anime Nationand I was surprised that it took a relatively shorter time for them to upload my entry. Cool!

It's nothing fancy, though. Anyway, there's always room for improvement, aight?

Please, do check it out.

Of Movies and Beauty Queens

I still believe that Mutya ng Pilipinas 2002 Candidate No. 23's answer is better than Candidate No. 24's. She (No. 23) was my classmate and groupmate in Philosophy I. Who cares? I doubt if she could even remember me.

Mutya ng Pilipinas 2002 Blooper:

Host: "What can you say about "fairy tales""?
Finalist: "Fairy tales are ... the best part of being childhood..."

Huwaaaaaaatttt????

*****

I've been straining my eyes since last night from watching five movies in a row. It's been awhile now since the last time we had a movie marathon. I rented one of my all -time favorites, American History X. Damn! That was pretty good! I've actually lost count of the number of times I've seen it and I have no intentions of counting them still. This one is an eye-opener.

Oh, well. I've finally took the challenge of watching an animated Hollywood flick. I rented "The Prince of Egypt" and "The Emperor's New Groove". Thanks to the recommendations of my former roommates. I like anime, but not Hollywood animation. Let's just say that the likelihood of me actually watching a Hollywood animation (moreso, if it is from Disney's) assymptotically approaches zero. Take note, "assymptotically" meaning I do watch some but not all. I dunno, It just don't appeal to me as intensely as a "real" motion picture. We do know that Disney is more than willing to commit a major deviation to the original plot when it does seemingly classic-fairy-tale-inspired story. Like Cinderella's and Snow White's stories. Well, okay. That was forgivable since the majority of the viewing public are children. Fine.

Well, actually I was just using this reason as a scapegoat. I really hate animated Hollywood movie with a happy ending. As a child, I've given up believing in it. Funny thing is the child in me seemed to have never grown at all.
